Accenture Federal Services has recently secured an $81 million contract from the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) solutions.
The contract involves delivering comprehensive back-office automation services to overhaul the processing of 250 million retiree and survivors’ benefits documents annually. Currently, these forms are handled through email, mail, and fax.
“Accenture Federal Services looks forward to building on our fourteen years of past performance with the SSA to help the agency realize real business value from the Hyperscience hyper-automation platform. As the agency advances in its multi-year Modernization Plan to improve its ability to respond to changing retiree and survivors’ benefits needs at a manageable cost, our team will serve as a trusted partner every step of the way,” Laura Coon, a Managing Director at Accenture Federal Services and Social Security Administration Client Account Lead, said.
The SSA has effectively implemented an enterprise hyper-automation platform that leverages advanced deep learning and computer vision technologies.
This platform identifies and extracts data from the agency’s electronic folders, accurately transcribes information, and accelerates processing through various business workflows. By utilizing internal data, it manages high demand efficiently, speeds up decision-making, and helps control costs.
Accenture Federal Services will advance this project by providing the necessary licenses to deliver a comprehensive Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) roadmap. This will cover all aspects of intelligent automation, including installation, testing, and training.
