The General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) released its finalized Emerging Technology Prioritization Framework recently which outlines the initial focus areas for advanced AI capabilities that will receive priority attention.
“This framework will enable routine and consistent prioritization of the most critical cloud-relevant ETs needed for use by federal agencies. This prioritization will control how FedRAMP prioritizes its own work and review processes, and will not address how sponsoring agencies manage their own internal priorities,” GSA said in a blog post.
Along with certain cloud service providers (CSPs) whose cloud service offerings (CSOs) provide certain emerging technologies capabilities, the other technologies to be prioritized include - hat interfaces, code-generation and debugging tools, and prompt-based image generators, as required by Executive Order 14110.
The prioritization framework is designed to accommodate various technologies and capabilities, initially focusing on meeting the rising demand for AI-driven systems in federal operations.
This approach allows Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to expedite their authorization review process, minimizing wait times.
