The Christian Village at Mason recently acquired 10 acres of land, purchased from Christ’s Church at Mason. The property, which is adjacent to their existing Mason campus, will provide exciting opportunities for future growth at the senior living community.
"We want to be able to serve the greater community," says Lizz Stephens, vice president of business development. "This land acquisition is going to further support our mission and allow for growth opportunities."
Christian Village Communities, a locally owned not-for-profit, was originally founded in 1960 and is committed to inspiring Christian retirement living for seniors. Formerly known as The Christian Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati, the management company recently rebranded to better reflect the two local properties, The Christian Village at Mason and The Christian Village at Mt. Healthy.
"We are a life-plan community," Stephens says. "That means that unlike many of the standalone assisted living communities that are being constructed in the area, we are able to offer all levels of care on one campus."
The Christian Village at Mason provides a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, long-term nursing care, rehabilitation and memory care. If a resident’s care needs change, they can continue to receive everything needed on campus without moving to a different facility.
"This is really a special place," Stephens says. "A lot of that has to do with the people who work here. Our employees treat residents like they are family."
Stephens says their branded customer service program, called service from the heart, consists of three P’s: employees take Pride in their work, they approach their jobs with a Positive attitude and they give every resident Personalized attention.
"When we hire, we look for employees that exemplify this customer service program," she says. "New employees are trained on service from the heart so it’s part of our culture here."
The Christian Village at Mason is five-star rated by Medicare and has won Cincy Magazine’s Best of the North award for four consecutive years. In a Holleran community-wide survey, it scored in the 90th percentile in resident satisfaction, and made the U.S. News & World Report’s list of best nursing homes.
"We were also awarded the Cincinnati Enquirer’s top-workplace designation in 2016 and 2017," Stephens says. "So, our employees are happy as well as our residents."
With excellent resident and employee satisfaction, the new land acquisition is an opportunity for the community to further their mission and expand their success with future growth opportunities.
"As for our plans for the land," Stephens says. "I would simply say, stay tuned."
