“Cincinnati Country Day School (CCDS) has always been at the forefront of having an innovative, academic program. We were founded on those unique principals, but also having something that was, even back in 1926 when the school was founded, appropriate for the learners of that era,” says Aaron Kellenberger, director of enrollment management at CCDS.

“We were one of the first schools in the country to do a one-to-one laptop program. So, this is building on that longstanding academic reputation that we’ve always had. But we really believe that our three pillars are going to enhance the academic program that we have.”

These three pillars refer to: innovative learning and teaching, the global engagement program, and environmental commitment. Innovative learning and teaching focuses on student learning, introducing “makers space centers” to encourage hands-on learning experience and internship opportunities.

The global engagement program has led to the introduction of CCDS’s Mandarin language program and exchange programs in both France and Spain. CCDS’s environmental commitment focuses on getting students outside of the classroom, taking advantage of the sprawling, 62-acre campus and natural surroundings of Indian Hill.

In addition to these curricular enhancements, Country Day is investing in its highly skilled and dedicated educators who know and nurture each student. “If we want our students to be lifelong learners, we as educators also must be lifelong learners,” says Tony Jaccaci, CCDS’s head of school. “To work here, you must be passionate about your subject area, passionate about education and always asking questions. The discussions that will have an impact on the school 20 or 30 years from now start today.”
