Dessa Gypalo Appointed As Chief Data Officer of Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT)

The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology has appointed Dessa Gypalo as its new Chief Data Officer. Gypalo will start working to further develop a culture of data and to lead in creating a strong foundation of data analytics for the State of Illinois – DoIT. Prior to her employment at State of Illinois – DoIT, she served as the inaugural Chief Data Officer for Cook County, Illinois where she created a holistic approach to solving big problems with people, data, and technology.

Gypalo is an experienced data executive with more than a decade of experience in political campaigns, non-profits, and public sector. Her focus is on designing and implementing sustainable and scalable data programs.

Gypalo’s leadership and extensive experience in data and technology shall be a great addition to Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology’s move of creating a culture of data for the organization.
