Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams had a few goals in mind when they brought their namesake store to the Cincinnati market: filling the striking, two-story space with furnishings consumers won’t find anywhere else, and introducing the local area to the chain’s trademark focus on comfort.

Contemporary Meets Comfort

For Gold and Williams, it’s always been about providing an inviting, engaging shopping experience for customers that are welcomed like family. The expansive 11,000 square-foot space at the Kenwood Collection was designed by Bob Williams, President of Design, in conjunction with in-house architect David Byington. The store’s layout was carefully crafted to showcase products in a way that allows customers to experience the brand’s unique style aesthetic in authentic settings. Product offerings cover the gamut: upholstered furniture, dining tables, chests, coffee tables, étagères, lighting, area rugs, accessories, artwork, an exclusive line of bed linens and a special Modern Classics drapery collection.

While the selections are distinctly stylish and refined, the atmosphere at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is remarkably relaxed and family friendly. “We know buying furniture can be an anxiety-ridden purchase,” says Williams. “We want everyone who walks through those doors to feel welcome, comfortable and very well taken care of.” This welcome even extends to four-legged family members; customers often bring along their dogs and the store keeps a stock of dog treats on hand.

Beyond the concept of “comfort for all,” Gold and Williams also work to ensure that other important parts of their mission are carried forward in the brand’s offerings – American-made products that are eco-friendly. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams upholstered goods are manufactured in a 1 million square foot factory in Taylorsville, NC. The company prides itself on being an industry leader when it comes to manufacturing and selling eco-friendly, sustainable furnishings. Gold served on the Sustainable Furnishings Council board of directors for several years.
