Andy and I met in middle school when Andy played soccer with my brother Jeff. We knew of each other but never really talked. I went to all their games and cheered them on. Occasionally I’d go on away trips with them. 

Fast forward to college. One night, close to finals, I was in the library with my friend Caley and her friend Max. Over the course of that night, Max was talking about how he planned to go meet up with this guy named Andy. When I realized I knew him, Max kind of set us up. Two weeks later we were dating. 

Andy and I were together four years when he proposed to me at the zoo on New Year’s Eve. Over our relationship we fell in love with the zoo and always go there on New Year’s Eve. So it was fitting. 

We got married a month ago, 10/8/16. At our wedding, we did something completely different and had a charity table. Andy and I have always believed in animal conservation and helping raise awareness for extinct animals. Our charity table had baby pictures of each of us so we asked our friends and family to vote for the cutest baby. The money I raised went to the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla exhibit and the money Andy raised went to the International Rhino Foundation. We ended up adding money to each one to donate an even $150 to each place. 

We got married at Spring Grove Cemetery and had our reception at the gardens of park hills. We honeymooned in Jamaica.
