Tracy Daniels, Truist Chief Data Officer, speaks with Robert Lutton, Sandhill Consultants Vice President, in a video interview about driving cross-functional partnerships, building bridges between employees and technology, and applying advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.
Daniels states that data flows everywhere, and her success depends on her peers’ ability to drive value. In addition to keeping a list of things that need to be addressed in the short and long term, she says the company has routines for engaging with its lines of business.
Regarding building bridges between employees and technology, Daniels explains that platforms and capabilities are designed to simplify the use of data, protect it, and make it cost-effective. She notes that the controls should enable people to consume assets and platforms more readily, allowing them to go faster and with greater autonomy.
Sharing her experience applying advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to solve problems, Daniels notes that her team now owns the AI and ML Center of Excellence (CoE). The group of teammates acts as an accelerator to help the organization build, assess, and learn how to leverage AI and ML. The CoE is expected to incubate new ideas, which will be shared with the lines of business.
