Leading Swiss bank wealth manager UBS has appointed Daniele Magazzeni as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO), a move aimed at advancing the firm’s AI strategy, driving innovation, and expanding the use of emerging technologies across its operations.

Magazzeni brings extensive experience in AI research and in scaling enterprise AI solutions. Before joining UBS, he was Chief Analytics Officer at J.P. Morgan, overseeing analytics strategy for both the EMEA region and the Commercial and Investment Bank. In that role, he led initiatives to strengthen AI capabilities, promote innovation, and maintain strong governance standards across business lines including markets, banking, payments, and securities services. Earlier in his career, he served as Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at King’s College London.

As CAIO, Magazzeni will lead UBS’s AI strategy with a focus on enhancing business performance, improving client experiences, and boosting employee productivity. He will also oversee the Chief Artificial Intelligence Office, which is responsible for scaling AI-powered tools and solutions across the organization while ensuring consistency, governance, and technological alignment. Based in London, Magazzeni will report to Mike Dargan, Group Chief Operations and Technology Officer, starting January 1, 2026.
