Greg Ulrich will lead Mastercard’s newly formed Data and AI organization as Chief AI and Data Officer, as per an official announcement. Craig Vosburg, Chief Services Officer, will oversee the organization in addition to his current role.
The move is a part of the company’s organizational realignment centered on "three interdependent areas of Core Payments, Commercial and New Payment Flows, and Services."
“These changes will reinforce our strategy and competitive advantage to drive long-term growth, diversify our revenue streams and differentiate our products and solutions. Our teams will be able to execute faster and deliver more value to our partners and customers,” says Chief Executive Officer Michael Miebach about the overall realignment.
Prior to his new role, Ulrich was Executive Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development. He originally joined Mastercard in 2015 when it acquired Applied Predictive Technologies (APT), a leading cloud-based analytics company. Before joining APT, he was a management consultant, initially with Marakon Associates before working with multiple organizations in the social and nonprofit sector.
Ulrich has more than 20 years of experience helping organizations use data and insights to solve challenging business problems. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Duke University.
