London School of Economics and Political Science Appoints Nick Gilbert as CIO

(EMEA) The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has recently appointed Nick Gilbert as Chief Information Officer. As an award-winning, globally experienced higher education technology leader, Gilbert brings a proven track record of working with and building teams inside and across institutions to enable high-quality, efficient, and cyber-secure digital and technology services for the sector.

With considerable expertise, Gilbert has supported institutions, boards, and the sector in achieving their vital mission through service, education, and research innovation, facilitating the Education sector in realizing the promise of technology and digital advancements.

Before joining LSE, Gilbert served as Chief Information and Digital Officer at the University of Surrey. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology, data, and digital operations across the University. His contributions ranged from delivering digital services essential for administration, teaching, research, and student experiences to envisioning and actualizing the future of the institution. Gilbert also currently serves on the Member Board of Trustees for UCISA.
