Invafresh Appoints Andrew Cron as Chief Data Officer

(US and Canada) Grocery retail management platform Invafresh has appointed Andrew Cron Ph.D. as Chief Data Officer. Cron is an accomplished executive-level data scientist and technology thought leader with a proven track record in driving transformational business results by bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology innovation and real-world application.

He joins Invafresh from 84.51˚, Kroger’s retail data science, insights and media company, where he was SVP, Chief Scientist. In this role, Cron built and led the R&D vision and strategy for Kroger’s data analytics and data monetization subsidiary, enhancing Kroger’s in-store and supply chain operations, as well as CPG partner product performance. Prior to 84.51˚, Cron held senior data scientist roles with Citadel LLC, Weinraub Analytics, and MaxPoint.

Cron holds a PhD in Statistical Science from Duke University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He was also an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. In addition, he was a 2023 Progressive Grocer GenNext honoree and he sits on the board of Last Mile Food Rescue, a Cincinnati nonprofit leveraging technology to reduce hunger and food waste by connecting those in need with fresh food.
