(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Ankit Goel to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Goel is currently the Chief Data and Analytics Officer, leading the team dedicated to enhancing the data and analytics ecosystem for KeyBank in support of current and future business strategies and risk objectives.
Goel is responsible for enhancing the bank’s Data and Analytics Strategy and Governance to make it easier to find, access, and use data. Additionally, Goel ensures Key has a sound approach to managing the complete data lifecycle from production to consumption. His leadership combines strategy with technical implementation, enabling Key to effectively prioritize across the data portfolio to ensure there is a single point of accountability.
Previously, Goel held the role of SVP—Head of Data, Analytics, and Modeling, where he led the analytical data and tools strategy for KeyBank including Commercial, Consumer, and Digital efforts. He was also responsible for setting up the end-to-end data and analytics governance for the bank, supporting critical intersections between business, technology, and risk partners.
Prior to joining KeyBank in 2022, Goel was the Vice President of Data Transformation and Analytics Solutions for the single-family division at Freddie Mac, where he led the development and implementation of a multi-year cloud transformation for the data ecosystem. He was also responsible for the single-family division’s transformation to agile. During this time, he also focused on creating and executing strategies supporting business intelligence, artificial intelligence and machine learning, business rules, and business data architecture.
A 22+ year finance industry veteran, Goel has led several large, corporate-wide business initiatives to successful outcomes. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Goel served as a Vice President at Goldman Sachs where he led global technology teams supporting the company’s prime brokerage and repo trading businesses.
Goel received his B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Maryland, and his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
