We are pleased to announce Andres Vives as the newest member of CDO Magazine’s Global Board.

Andres Vives is Visa’s Chief Data Officer responsible for bringing strategic focus to develop and scale Visa’s data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) assets to deliver value to Visa’s client and stakeholders. In this role, Andres drives the development of strategy and program execution for how Visa collects, manages, and uses data to create value for banks, acquirers, retailers, governments, and consumers. Andres leads Visa’s global data and AI related activities including product development, data and AI innovation, data analytics, data and AI policy, talent and capabilities development, as well as data governance. Andres is also enabling Visa’s strategy and businesses via Data and AI, fostering a data-driven decision-making culture. As Chief Data Officer, Andres provides strategic leadership and guides our exploration of new data and AI technologies as potential differentiation.

Andres has nearly 25 years of deep data experience, a global perspective, and strong leadership and management skills. He was previously the Enterprise Chief Data & Analytics Officer at TD Bank, with broad responsibility for the strategic use of data, advanced analytics, and AI to drive business growth and enhance decision. Andres previously was Chief Data & Analytics Officer for CitiBanamex in Mexico. He also spent time at Capital One in a variety of data-related leadership roles, including Managing Vice President, Head of Big Data Transformation.

Andres holds a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad de los Andes and a master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.
