Alexandra Castillo, UC Health VP and CDAO, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board

(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Alexandra Castillo to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Castillo is Vice President, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at UC Health, and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Castillo is a strong advocate of the system's commitment to fostering innovation. She plays a pivotal role in leading the way the enterprise approaches data collection, analysis, and utilization to enhance the delivery of care and attain operational excellence.

Additionally, she is actively involved in supporting biomedical research initiatives. With over a decade of experience in the healthcare sector, Castillo brings a wealth of knowledge to her current role. She holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics and a master's degree in public health from the University of Southern Mississippi.

In her current position, Castillo takes the helm in various data and analytics areas, as well as registry operations. Her responsibilities include collaborating closely with leadership to instill a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization. This involves establishing efficient processes for data collection, interpretation, and sharing to achieve targeted results.

Among Castillo's notable professional accolades are the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives Collaboration Award, the Association of American Medical Colleges Learning Healthcare System Pioneer Award, the Group on Women in Medicine and Science Innovation Award, the Excellence in Research - COVID-19 Hero Award, and the SEARCH Conference Scientific Poster Award. In addition to these accolades, she has authored 18 publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
