(USA and Canada) A distinguished group of industry thought leaders selected by experts from leading cybersecurity consultant Stratascale has released The Executive Guide to Zero Trust. The new book delivers guidance that helps executives from large enterprises to establish the vision, strategy, and detailed frameworks necessary to adopting a cybersecurity approach that is aligned with the needs of digital businesses that have embraced cloud computing, mobile employees, modern applications, and extended supplier/customer ecosystems as critical infrastructure.
Lead author Michael O’Neil believes that the book could not have been developed by a single author. “It’s said that ‘all of us are smarter than any one of us,’ and this was certainly the case with the content we created for The Executive Guide to Zero Trust. By bringing together CISOs from our Fortune 1000 customers, experts recognized throughout the industry as thought leaders, and internal SMEs from across Stratascale’s security and related practices, we were able to provide clear, actionable advice for executives. Our goal was to address the CISO’s need for guidance that helps them to develop and articulate strategy, without getting pulled down into technical discussions of product features and solution specifications.”
The book recently achieved best-seller status in three categories on Amazon. It is available in Kindle format today, with a hardcover version scheduled for release at the end of April, and an Audible audiobook version slated for release in May.
“Zero trust is not just a CISO buzzword; it provides forward-thinking businesses with a strategic advantage that can significantly reduce the risk of data breaches and provide enhanced visibility and improved compliance posture.” – Michael Wilcox, Vice President, Stratascale Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (author)

“Zero Trust is, and will continue to be, the dominant security strategy that organizations must align to. Why? Because ZT focuses on what the adversary needs to be continually successful and not wasting efforts on never being breached. We accept breach in the ZT world, and we strategically work to eliminate the continual compromise smartly.” – Dr. Chase Cunningham, Chief Strategy Officer, Ericom, and host of the DrZeroTrust podcast (author)

“Zero trust isn’t just for cyber security; it needs to be a core part of any digital business competing globally today. The Executive Guide to Zero Trust provides valuable insights into how to keep progressing toward creating a zero-trust framework tailored to the unique challenges of a given business.” – Louis Columbus, Contributing Columnist, VentureBeat (reviewer)

“Security leaders realize that in order to meet the changes that cloud transformation and a new remote workforce have wrought the current perimeter security model does not work. Zero Trust gives them a security frame that moves from a black and white, yes or no model that seldom engaged the business to a dynamic approach that relies on the business to define the risks while security applies the proper decision context in the ‘now.’” – Rob Forbes, Director, Zero Trust and Identity, Stratascale

“This book comes at a critical time as organizations are struggling to secure their sensitive data against increasing threats and heightened liability. The vast majority of business activities do not require access to extremely sensitive data, hence Zero Trust can increase the security of these precious assets and simultaneously increase efficiency by streamlining the operations that do not require these restrictions. Whatever the maturity of a company’s security practices, the practical and comprehensive guidance will reduce risk and costs. My hope is that this book helps organizations transition from a "fortress" mindset to a culture of agility and sustainable security practices.” – Barney Baldwin, Lecturer, Columbia University (author)

“This books is very well done – it truly defines a thorough approach for the business to take on a zero trust technology. It’s a great read, rich in content and instruction! Clearly the contributing thought leaders were generous and detail oriented – this is a true executive’s guide.” – Maureen Rosado, Zero Trust Strategics and Executive Consultant, Pink Falcon Consulting Group (reviewer)

"One of the biggest challenges in cybersecurity is bringing awareness, without fear, into board level/executive conversations. The other challenge is building a “culture” of security or adopting a “security first” mindset. This is really the genius of Zero Trust in that It focuses on the changes required to adapt to that culture by bringing the conversation back to the fundamentals…This book does an amazing job of separating fact from fiction and gives concrete examples of what Zero Trust is and how it can help any organization.” – Sean Frazier, Federal CSO, Okta (author)

"Adversaries are going to gain initial access to your organization. Employees click links, software has more vulnerabilities, cloud services get misconfigured and access credentials are too easy to come by for attackers. Zero Trust is essential to reduce the blast radius of an attack once the adversary gets in. Learn and practice the principles of ZT to drastically minimize business disruption when the inevitable breach happens." – David Senf, National Cybersecurity Strategist, Bell Canada (reviewer)
