CDO Magazine’s Executive Boardroom Dinner in New York on August 14 brought together senior data, analytics, and AI leaders for an evening of dialogue and idea-sharing on the topic of “Fighting Financial Fraud in Real Time with AI.”

The executives shared strategies to spot unusual behavior, reduce false alarms, build fast and reliable systems, and use AI to uncover hidden patterns — all while lowering costs through smarter models and streamlined technology. The discussion was moderated by Srini V Srinivasan, Aerospike Founder & CTO.

According to Arvind Balasundaram, Regeneron Executive Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics, “The discussion highlighted the immense gap that still exists in making data as a product useful in delivering agile, real-time business impact. This will make newer data ecosystem players, like Aerospike, relevant to the data-effectiveness conversation.

Although the examples focused on fraud and finance, Balasundaram believes the lessons apply broadly across sectors, including healthcare. He adds, “The malleability of data is clearly becoming more critical to its usefulness in business application, and data provisioning will continue to grow in importance beyond a focus on data acquisition and data ingestion alone.”

Reflecting on the evening, James Massa, JPMorganChase Sr. Executive Director, Software Engineering & Architecture, says, “I had a super experience at the CDO Magazine event. The attendees were fascinating and fun. The speaker gave a lovely overview of fraud technology best practices, and the event itself was run flawlessly.”

Adding to these reflections, Girish Gajwani, Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank Vice President, Securitized Products Technology, says, ”’Build it; they will come.’ When we create with vision and purpose, we attract the right people, ready to collaborate, innovate, and shape the future together.”

Anthony Losanno, CDO Magazine SVP, Sales, highlights, “CDO Magazine had a great night with our NYC community and Aerospike discussing fraud detection models, ways to best use data, and what is needed to do this in real time. Data is a product, and quick access to it is a key to success. We loved the interactivity of the session and the engagement with some of the brightest minds in the city.”

Summing up the evening, moderator Srinivasan says, “The event was outstanding! Thank you, CDO Magazine, for bringing together data and AI leaders in NYC to discuss best practices in detecting and preventing fraud in real-time with AI. Real-time data combined with the fine-tuned AI models dramatically lowers the false positives and detects fraud with higher accuracy. I am excited and looking forward to continuing our discussions on this pressing topic.”

Special thanks to Aerospike for making the CDO Magazine Executive Boardroom Dinner such a resounding success.
