With enterprises leveraging data as an asset to create greater value, data privacy and cybersecurity are becoming business differentiators. This growing alignment between data and security led CDO Magazine to launch its Global Security Board in late September 2022. Members are Chief Information Security Officers and senior security executives.
“The emergence of data as a strategic asset to drive greater value in the enterprise is causing a key alignment between the offices of the CDO and the CISO,” says Steve Wanamaker, Founder and CEO of CDO Magazine. He notes that it reminds him of how CIO and CMO roles were critically aligned around 10 years ago.
“Before that, the CIO wasn’t considered a key partner to the CMO. However, once the CMO learned that the CIO had key technology that could help create value, they had strategic alignment. We’re seeing the same thing play out today with the CDO and CISO roles,” Wanamaker points out. “You can’t make money without secure data.”
As global thought leaders, CDO Magazine’s Security Board of CISOs and other top security executives will share their expert opinions and innovations in data privacy and cybersecurity. Board members may serve as conference speakers, interviewees, opinion writers, editorial reviewers, and content developers. The board will ensure that CDO Magazine champions the best companies, leaders, and insights that accelerate its community’s success in today’s digital world.
“We are excited about launching our Global Security Board,” Wanamaker adds. “These top security experts will provide our readers with a more holistic understanding of the data and security convergence and its significant impact on the enterprise.”
CDO Magazine’s goal is to welcome 100 of the world’s foremost security leaders to the board by the end of 2023.
Founding Security Board members include Anupam Srivastava, State of Ohio CISO; Brian Minick, Fifth Third Bank CISO; Mike Rock, Sensata Technologies Senior Director and CISO; William McCaster, Ohio National Financial Services CISO and VP; Michael Redmond, City of Louisville Deputy CISO; Nick Ritter, First Financial Bank CISO; David Sims, Elevance Health Staff Vice President, Security Technology Services; Katrina Biscay, University of Cincinnati CISO; Jacob Lorz, Cintas IT Security Director; Anthony Coggins, Acrisure Security Operations Leader; and Tyler Young, BigID CISO.
