The discussion fostered a dynamic exchange of perspectives, innovative ideas and leadership challenges. The panel speakers called out these key points:

  • “AI needs Data and Data needs AI,” states Nimmagadda. “Generative AI capabilities will automate even more data management tasks and processes.” She emphasizes that, “Organizations need to develop a data strategy that is aligned with business strategy to accelerate the value generation from AI models.”

  • Sharing about her experience at Takeda, Latulippe says: “We are accelerating our journey and identifying use cases where we can drive value realization for the business leveraging AI/GenAI to transform our organization. It is built on a strong enterprise data foundation focused on data quality and trust as an enabler for unleashing the power of AI/GenAI.”

  • According to Daluwatte: “For life sciences, biology is like an information processing system. Just like mathematics is the modality that describes physics, AI has the potential to be the modality that describes biology. With regulation compliance, life science is in a great place to achieve gains from AI.”

Other points raised during the discussion:

  • The arrival of generative AI has also advanced and accelerated data initiatives.

  • Other industries can learn from pharmaceutical companies since they already have tools in place for regulation.

  • Generative AI has huge potential to disrupt and transform pharmaceutical drug development.

“We are thrilled to have provided a platform for meaningful conversations and connections that will undoubtedly drive advancements within the industry,” says Steve Wanamaker, CEO and Publisher of CDO Magazine. “CDO Magazine remains committed to organizing thought leadership events with our executive communities regionally and around the globe. We want to help empower and elevate the data ecosystem by fostering collaboration among industry data leaders.”
