The security of the cloud is a complex issue and there is no simple answer to the question of whether cloud computing is more or less secure than traditional on-premises computing.
On the one hand, cloud providers have a lot of resources to invest in security and they can take advantage of economies of scale to implement security measures that would be too expensive for most organizations to implement on their own.
Additionally, cloud providers are constantly monitoring their systems for security threats, and they have a larger team of security experts who are available to respond to incidents.
On the other hand, cloud computing introduces new security risks that were not present in the traditional on-premises computing. For example, cloud providers have access to customer data, and if they are not careful, they could expose this data to unauthorized access.
Additionally, cloud customers need to be careful about how they configure their cloud resources, as misconfiguration can lead to a data breach.
This grounded conversation focuses on the realities of managing risk in the cloud.
Watch now as the panelists discuss the different threats, vulnerabilities, costs, data security and privacy concerns as well as what you need to know to stay secure.
