At its exclusive Roundtable Exchange at the Chamberlain’s Steakhouse on February 11, CDO Magazine hosted Dallas’ top data, analytics, and AI leaders for an engaging evening of connection and collaboration on the timely topic of “How to create actionable data governance in the age of AI with foundational capabilities.”

Industry peers discussed how many organizations remain trapped in endless data “cleanup phases,” shifting toward automation to resolve quality issues in real time rather than project by project. They emphasized metadata as AI’s instruction manual, strengthening data integrity to prevent LLM hallucinations, and evolving governance frameworks to address risks from generative and agentic AI systems.

Sharing his experience, Co-chair Vino Kingston, Lockheed Martin AI Data & AI Leader Leader, says, “It was more than exciting to hear how the community now talks about ‘knowledge’ beyond ‘data’. This aligns with my priorities well as I push for ‘knowledge-driven decision-making’ by capitalizing on AI technology breakthroughs that have happened in recent years.”

Calling it an “honor” to Co-chair the CDO Magazine Roundtable Exchange and spend the evening with fellow data and AI leaders, Shuchi Agrawal, SMBC Group Head, AI Execution, says, “I loved reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and exchanging practical ideas, from actionable data governance and responsible AI to data quality, architecture, and even favorite hiking and food spots. Grateful for this collaborative, growth-minded community and the energy everyone brings to moving our field forward together.”

Jenna George, CDO Magazine Community Director, highlights, “The CDO Magazine Dallas community continues to grow. We had several new members join us for an evening of insightful discussions. I look forward to our Forum in August as well.”

Summing it up, Patrick Wolf, Qlik Head, Value Engineering, North America, says, “The discussion reinforced that AI maturity is inseparable from data maturity: quality, governance, and resilient platforms are prerequisites for any credible AI strategy. The most compelling examples were practical, internal efficiency gains built on strong data foundations.”

Special thanks to Qlik, Cyera, Google Cloud, and Upriver for their partnership in making the event a success.
