VIDEO | Genpact Chief Digital Officer: Data Is its Own Asset Class

(US and Canada) Genpact Chief Digital Officer Sanjay Srivastava speaks with Derek Strauss, Chairman of Gavroshe, in a video interview about his role, Genpact’s business, data as an asset, and big AI’s impact on businesses.

Genpact is a global professional services firm that delivers digital transformation for Fortune 500 companies. Srivastava drives the corporation’s digital strategy, spending time with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, digital officers, and board members. He also works with startup CEOs and venture capital firms focused on emerging tech in data, technology, and AI.

Discussing why big data often is so messy, he says that data is its own asset class and one of the highest drivers of transformative value. But the best-known secret about big data is that it's very messy data that sits at large corporations in various forms and locations. It is also known as dark data.

Srivastava explains that unlocking the value in the data can help businesses differentiate their offering and create profitable solutions for customers. He suggests the following three steps to make the transition incredibly doable:

  • Architecture — Get it right before you start.
  • Business Domain — Understand the business context.
  • Governance  — Do it right from the get-go.

According to Srivastava, Big AI equals large learning models. For example, GPT 4, trained on 500 trillion parameters, exponentially improves the accuracy and prediction levels. He notes that Big AI has changed the way people think and interact with artificial intelligence while eliminating the technology layer.

Srivastava explains how generated AI can convert an English-language movie to Mandarin while in progress and maintain the actor’s tone. In conclusion, he says enterprises can benefit from generated AI in various ways.

CDO Magazine appreciates Sanjay Srivastava for sharing his insights and data success stories with our global community.
