Samsung Electronics is set to enhance its Bixby virtual assistant with a large language model (LLM), introducing more natural voice interactions that mimic human conversation. This generative AI algorithm will be incorporated into Samsung's home appliances starting in July 2024.

During the EuroCucina 2024 in Milan, Samsung's Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee reportedly outlined the company's strategy to integrate generative AI into its kitchen technology.

The brand’s presentation highlighted the Bespoke Refrigerator with AI Family Hub, which features a 32-inch touchscreen that allows users to access media and personalized recipes via the Samsung Food app. It also monitors food inventory and provides notifications about expiring items.

Samsung emphasized its competitive edge in the home appliance market by offering a broader product range compared to competitors like Apple, which does not produce home appliances, and LG Electronics, which recently exited the smartphone market.
