The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking information from vendors that can provide commercial generative AI technology to enhance its acquisition and contract lifecycle management processes.
The VA is looking for a proven commercial off-the-shelf platform equipped with analytical tools and GenAI capabilities that can be tailored to specific use cases, according to a request for information posted Tuesday on SAM.gov.
“The solution must provide a commercially proven base platform with an integrated suite of robust analytical tools and GenAI capabilities that may be customized to meet specific SAC requirements and use cases. The solution must support a range of AI-enhanced workflows to assist in acquisition planning, document generation, pre-award and solicitation, evaluation and award, and post-award management workflows,” VA said.
It was also mentioned that the solution must comply with all current Trustworthy AI requirements and hold a FedRAMP authorization at a moderate level or higher for commercial software.
Last year, it was reported that the VA is adopting a more “cautious” approach to using AI for veteran-facing applications. The agency is focusing on utilizing AI internally to enhance the capabilities of employees who assist veterans, according to VA OCTO Data and AI Health Product Lead Kaeli Yuen.
