The United Arab Emirates and the United States have launched the “US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership” to deepen collaboration on advanced technologies and safeguard critical AI infrastructure.

The initiative includes the development of a 1GW AI data center in Abu Dhabi — part of a planned 5GW AI technology cluster — aligned with U.S. security standards and aimed at supporting global compute demand.

The partnership also streamlines UAE digital infrastructure investments into the U.S., enhancing bilateral economic ties.

A joint working group will be formed within 30 days to oversee implementation, monitor progress, and ensure responsible deployment of AI technologies across both nations.

The 1GW AI data center was unveiled at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, and was witnessed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

The massive campus, the largest AI facility outside the U.S., will host American hyperscalers and enterprises, serving nearly half the global population within a 3,200 km radius.

Spanning 10 square miles, the campus will be developed by G42 in partnership with U.S. firms and powered by nuclear, solar, and gas energy to reduce emissions.

“In the UAE, American companies will operate the data centers and offer American-managed cloud services throughout the region. The agreement also contains strong security guarantees to prevent diversion of U.S. technology. By extending the world’s leading American tech stack to an important strategic partner in the region, this agreement is a major milestone in achieving President Trump’s vision for U.S. AI dominance,” U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard W. Lutnick said.
