Sierra Space, a top player in commercial space and defense technology, has been chosen for the U.S. Space Systems Command’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Tools Applications and Processing (TAP) Lab Apollo Accelerator Cohort 4. 

Sierra Space Chief Executive Officer Tom Vice said that the company’s participation underlines the work they are doing to develop and deploy Sierra Space Black OS, the next-generation, highly scalable, and secure software operating system powered by advanced AI.

Sierra Space will also develop AI and machine learning solutions to proactively identify and address potential threats to friendly satellites in orbit.

By strengthening our defense capabilities, we are ensuring that the United States remains at the forefront of space domain awareness and security, protecting our assets and interests in the ever-evolving space environment,” Dr. Joe Kopacz, Sierra Space Vice President of Software and Artificial Intelligence, said.

As a participant in Cohort 4, Sierra Space will collaborate with other innovative companies to tackle critical challenges in space defense. 

During the program, Sierra Space will advance new AI/ML technologies, helping to keep our nation at the cutting edge of space domain awareness and defense. Sierra Space is dedicated to supporting the SDA's mission to protect the future of space operations and exploration.
