US Department of Air Force Is Seeking a Chief Data and AI Officer

​​The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is seeking a new Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer. The DAF CDAO will:

• Oversee the strategic management and operational integration of data, information assets, and AI throughout the DAF enterprise.

• Develop a comprehensive enterprise data and AI strategy aligned with the mission, focusing on enhancing digital talent management and strategic partnerships.

• Oversee the formulation of data and AI policies and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidance while driving digital transformation objectives. 

• Strengthen data and AI governance and remove policy barriers to digital transformation.

• Be responsible in developing and executing a comprehensive data and AI governance framework for the DAF, ensuring it's practical, holistic, and capable of engaging stakeholders while facilitating enterprise data lifecycle management. 

“The incumbent must possess professional and executive-level knowledge and experience in Enterprise Data Management and governance (including creation, application, and maintenance of data standards), AI and Machine Learning (ML) formulation, strategy, and direction, Joint and integrated information operations, and data assurance,” the job description said.
