US Department of the Air Force
The U.S. Air Force Futures directorate is examining next-generation artificial intelligence systems that could dramatically accelerate its war-game planning and execution.
As part of this effort, the service is reviewing innovative digital platforms and advanced modeling-and-simulation solutions.
The Department of the Air Force is hindered by fragmented, outdated, and vendor-restricted systems that prevent it from addressing essential questions about capabilities, evaluating courses of action, or generating accurate cost assessments.
“The Air Force requires a transformed, future-ready system to achieve Decision Superiority and deliver an integrated Force Design. The goal is to develop a system that provides a winning force design and helps close gaps in future campaigns,” according to a Request for Information (RFI) posted on Sam.gov.
The Air Force is seeking industry input on technologies that advance human-machine teaming and modernize its simulation ecosystem. Requirements include ultra-fast, scalable, multi-domain simulation architectures; intuitive interfaces that simplify planning; complex adaptive modeling with physics-based adjudication; and AI capabilities for adversary emulation, COA generation, and decision support.
Proposed solutions must also strengthen force-design analysis, cost-risk trade studies, and logistics integration within a unified digital environment.
“Vendors are requested to submit a capability brief outlining their relevant technologies, experience, and ability to meet the requirements,” officials added.
