U.S. President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order aimed at expanding educational and workforce development opportunities in AI, encouraging early interest and skill-building among American youth to help secure the nation’s long-term leadership in the global AI race.

He also established a White House Task Force on AI Education to plan and implement a Presidential AI Challenge, which will recognize student and educator achievements in AI.

Another priority of the task force is promoting widespread adoption of AI and fostering collaboration between government and academia.

“The task force will also establish public-private partnerships to provide resources for K-12 AI education, not only to enhance AI-related education but also to better utilize AI tools in education generally,” the White House said.

The task force will be led by the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and will include senior officials such as the Secretaries of Education and Labor and the Special Advisor for AI and Crypto.
