U.S. President Donald Trump
The newly elected Donald Trump administration is seeking public input as it formulates its approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy.
Through a Federal Register notice, the new administration is requesting feedback on the AI “action plan” outlined in President Donald Trump’s January 23 Executive Order on the technology.
Anyone from the public, including academia, industry groups, private sector organizations, state, local, and tribal governments, and any other interested parties can share their inputs on priority actions that should be included in the plan.
The order directs agencies to review AI-related actions taken under Joe Biden’s executive order which was rescinded by Trump on his first day in office.
“This Plan as directed by aPresidential Executive Order on January 23, 2025, will define the priority policy actions needed to sustain and enhance America’s AI dominance, and to ensure that unnecessarily burdensome requirements do not hamper private sector AI innovation.” the document reads.
“The Trump Administration is committed to ensuring the United States is the undeniable leader in AI technology. This AI Action Plan is the first step in securing and advancing American AI dominance, and we look forward to incorporating the public’s comments and innovative ideas,” Lynne Parker, Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), said in a statement.
