The U.S. National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC) recently approved a draft report this week outlining 10 key focus areas for President Trump to prioritize in his second term.
Established during the first Trump administration, the committee provides guidance to the president and the White House on the National AI Initiative.
The key areas include:
AI and the workforce
AI awareness and literacy
AI in education
AI in science
AI in health
AI in government
AI to empower small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits
AI governance
AI for the American people
AI in law enforcement
Together, these focus areas present a strategic framework for the administration to advance its AI goals.
“NAIAC members look forward to meeting with the administration to discuss the near-term recommendations outlined in this report and to identify additional AI-related priorities on which the Committee can offer ongoing guidance,” the draft mentioned.
The report also recommends establishing a repository of AI use cases and best practices, organizing an intergovernmental AI summit, ensuring the National AI Initiative Office is fully staffed and resourced, and formulating a comprehensive AI funding strategy.
