The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is looking to recruit a Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) to spearhead the formulation of the organizational strategy for the utilization, integration, and protection of AI. 

The CAIO will play a pivotal role in advancing AI applications for both public-facing government services and internal operations at OPM.

The position will also have an enterprise coordination and alignment role to ensure the safe, secure, trustworthy development and use of AI across the OPM and in externally facing applications.

The role involves advising the OPM Director, Deputy Director, and senior agency officials on the safe and effective use of AI. 

Other responsibilities include implementing governance processes, developing AI infrastructure, and coordinating with program offices to advance human capital management functions.
