The General Services Administration (GSA) is exploring the development of a unified, AI-enabled procurement ecosystem and is seeking input from industry through a newly issued request for information (RFI).
This comes just days after the GSA launched USAi, a secure generative AI evaluation suite designed to help federal agencies experiment with and adopt artificial intelligence at scale.
The initiative to develop a unified, AI-enabled procurement ecosystem aims to modernize and streamline the federal acquisition lifecycle by consolidating processes into a single, end-to-end system.
“Leveraging AI to consolidate procurement processes and provide insightful recommendations is critical to this transformation. We welcome our industry partners’ expertise as we build an acquisition system that reduces waste, delivers better value for taxpayers, and better results for the government,” Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum said.
The effort aims to drive efficiency and scale across acquisition processes for agencies, suppliers, and program offices. GSA invites input from suppliers, industry groups, and startups with expertise in IT, AI/ML, data analytics, and user experience. Interested parties should review the draft RFI package and submit White Papers of up to 10 pages.
