The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has started integrating its digital “Concierge AI” platform, initially targeting human resources applications, Steve Wallace, DISA’s Chief Technology Officer, revealed while speaking at AFCEA NOVA’s Army IT Day, Meritalk reported.
Earlier this year, DISA launched the pilot for Concierge AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) prototype designed to act as a digital concierge and enhance the capabilities of its workforce.
Wallace emphasized DISA’s continued advancements in developing the Concierge AI model, with a primary focus on enhancing HR operations during the initial rollout.
The Concierge AI platform is expected to enhance DISA’s decision-making processes. The digital concierge will gather data from controlled unclassified information environments and input it into a database. With the assistance of large language models (LLMs), this database will then provide users with answers.
“We load all the HR policies in, and we allow the users to ask questions about it. So that’s one of the first things that will kick off,” Wallace continued, “The nice thing about this is it isn’t in one office … This is something that will scale and it will scale pretty linearly. We see a lot of the Gen AI work as force multipliers … Whether it be in straight coding or however you want to use it.”
