Accenture Federal Services has secured a US$ 789 million ten-year contract to bolster cybersecurity operations for the U.S. Navy's global maritime forces.

The contract focuses on enhancing unified cybersecurity efforts within the SHARKCAGE environment—a centralized system aimed at safeguarding a seamless and comprehensive security perimeter.

The contract will see Accenture furnish the Navy's Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence Program Manager, Warfare Cybersecurity with both onshore and offshore SHARKCAGE systems.

These systems comprise a blend of commercial and commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software meticulously tailored to provide advanced analytics for defensive cyberspace operations across various Navy networks, encompassing Information Technology-21, ONENet, and Navy/Marine Corps Intranet.

The company's responsibilities in supporting these integrated systems span design, architecture, testing, production, delivery, installation support, and integrated logistics support.

The SHARKCAGE contract encompasses a base ordering span of five years, with an additional option for extending it by another five years.

“The role of cybersecurity in modern maritime military readiness has evolved and expanded. Network interconnectedness is essential to protecting critical U.S. defense assets and sensitive military data. Accenture Federal Services will help provide U.S. Navy fleets with the enhanced attack sensing and warning capabilities that these times demand,” Rick Driggers, Accenture Federal Services Managing Director and Cyber Practice Lead, said in a media update.
