Ben and Kelly met as students at Ohio University. They lived in the same dorm and shared mutual friends. "A friend of mine knew him and introduced us. We would go on dates to the dining hall for our meals and it evolved from there," says Kelly. 

The couple dated for six years before Ben popped the question. Kelly was running her first half-marathon in Columbus. Without her knowledge, Ben invited their friends and family to cheer her on. "I crossed the finish line and walked over to the party area where he had everyone lined up with a big sign that said, ‘Congratulations on the race!’ They dropped the sign and behind it said, ‘Kelly, will you marry me?’ "

Kelly and Ben had a Roaring ’20s themed wedding on October 3. "People don’t lie when they say it goes by fast – that’s the truth!" Kelly says "It was such an exciting day. We had a beautiful ceremony at St. Gertrude Church. I wore my mom’s gown for the ceremony, which was very important to Ben and I. Walking down the aisle to Ben was everything I could have asked for – it was truly amazing, I wish I could relive it."
