Shane Pergrem, owner and producer of True Artists Studio, believes, "Filmmaking isn’t about big budgets, special effects or big named actors. Filmmaking is about telling a story." 

Doing away with scripts and over-the-top sets, it is Pergrem and his crew’s mission to create a natural way of communicating visually with an audience. By stripping production and effects, True Artists Studio unearths simple and compelling stories through what Pergrem calls "documentary style, short form narratives" for a wide variety of clientele in Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Kentucky and beyond. 

Upon graduating from college, Pergrem’s goal was to work for himself within 10 years. He quickly understood that passion for the art of film, rather than the business side of film, was the means to accomplish his goal. After working as a freelancer for a community access TV station and the graveyard shift as operating master control at an affiliate station, Pergrem found his niche at a small production house that specialized in documentaries and short films. Passion, not business, drives Pergrem and his crew at True Artists Studio to do what they do. 

His clients are pleased not only with the finished product they receive, but the experience of sharing their story. Putting clients at ease is one of the essential components to creating content that gets to the heart of any organization or business. It is also about paying special attention to understanding why it is people do what they do. Pergrem strives to give his audience a portrait of the people behind a business or organization for the maximum impact. 

"Stories live everywhere," says Pergrem. "On a painting or sitting around a campfire. Stories have been around since the dawn of time."
