(US and Canada) Meghan Anzelc, Principal at Three Arc Advisory, speaks with Asha Saxena, Founder and CEO of WLDA.tech, in an International Women’s Month special video interview about her professional journey and improving AI technology accessibility. This interview is part of CDO Magazine’s special series celebrating women in data science, machine learning, and analytics.

In her previous role, Anzelc built the data and analytics function at Sponsor Stewart, a leading global executive search and leadership advisory firm. She has a decade of experience in data science and analytics in the property casualty insurance industry and has a Ph.D. in experimental high-energy particle physics.

Anzelc says artificial intelligence has a wide range of use cases in terms of tool and technique applications. There were a variety of uses for them in the industries she worked in previously, including automation and information extraction.

Reacting to Chat GPT, Anzelc says that she was a bit surprised by the uptake’s scale and speed. She says that language models have existed for quite a while, but ChatGPT made them accessible to the people.

Among the many applications of large language models are the auto-completion of emails and voice assistants like Siri and Alexa. Similarly, Anzelc notes, organizations have been utilizing natural language generation in different applications for a while. While the use cases will get broader over time, she maintains that a number of organizations have worked for years to build these capabilities.
