(US and Canada) Hariharan Srinivasan, Director of Enterprise Data Engineering and Analytics, Franklin Templeton, speaks with Cheryl Rodenfels, Chief Technology Officer, SHI’s Field Stratascale, about his role in leveraging data to drive digital transformation, and the organization’s transformation journey.

Srinivasan has been working with Franklin Templeton for about two decades, and supports the sales and marketing, and regulatory and global compliance teams. A main responsibility is delivering the strategic projects that help the company bring in revenue and retain assets. Srinivasan enjoys running operations because it is a backbone for keeping the systems up and running to support the enterprise.

Franklin Templeton began its digital transformation journey about two years ago. Srinivasan’s team is involved in two different aspects. One aspect is enhancing the customer experience by delivering trustworthy data quickly and consistently. The other aspect is the cloud journey to build scalable infrastructure and take advantage of the latest technology. Srinivasan explains that the latter is also an opportunity to re-engineer the team’s approach. 

From Srinivasan’s point of view, a primary goal is to move data quickly, process it, and deliver it throughout the business to make quick decisions.

Srinivasan’s team measures outcomes by making sure information is readily available to investors on time. Any missing information attracts callers to the call centers. And call centers getting too many calls is a sign of something wrong with the customer-facing websites.

He stresses that the team takes the utmost care to make sure all the information is available timely and accurately. Concluding, Srinivasan says that post the pandemic, there has been a realization that things can be done virtually as long as people realize their role and responsibility.
