(US and Canada) Jason Bayer, Vice President, Data & Analytics, Bridgestone Americas, speaks with Jason Masker, Field Chief Technology Officer, an SHI Company, about his role and focus at Bridgestone and how the company achieves goals via across-team coordination.
Bayer says Bridgestone is on a transformational journey to turn the world’s largest tire and rubber producer into a products and solutions company. His role involves leading the center of data and analytics expertise. The team partners with specialized teams, enabling advanced solutions, capturing and collecting data, and making it available throughout the organization to enhance products and bring new solutions to market.
Key methods for aligning value delivery with the business include considering data and analytics a capability and establishing partnerships focused on connecting the enterprise. The transformation journey brings opportunities to connect better and integrate the end-to-end value chain and asset chain in delivering products to the market in the connected world. It then connects to aftermarket solutions and captures tire and mobility data to feed to products, platforms, and solutions.
Bayer explains that the shared framework reinforces the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
Transformation accelerates value, he adds. Capability investment and the move to cloud-based architectures are helping develop innovation and data democratization faster. It is also improving data accessibility, quality, and analytical algorithms and models.
