Wells Fargo Appoints Ashley Regner as Chief Data Officer

Ashley Regner, Wells Fargo Chief Data Officer

(US and Canada) Multinational financial services company Wells Fargo has appointed Ashley Regner as its new Chief Data Officer. Regner brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and a strong background in enterprise-wide transformation and data leadership.

In her new role, Regner is responsible for leading the company’s data and analytics strategy, driving the technical delivery of data platforms, and embedding a data-driven culture across the organization. She joins Wells Fargo from Truist, where she most recently served as EVP, Head of Technology Integration and Performance, CTO, and Chief Information Risk Officer. At Truist, she led efforts to modernize technology and optimize business processes to enhance business outcomes.

Prior to her time at Truist, Regner spent over eight years at EY as Partner and America’s Financial Services Consulting Markets Growth Leader. She supported over 9,000 consulting professionals across North America to help deliver business insights and solutions for financial services clients. Her earlier career includes leadership roles at Regions Financial Corporation, where she served as Senior Vice President of Finance, Capital Planning.

Regner announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, stating: “My mission is to build the highest-performing data and technology team, one that not only delivers technical excellence but also champions transformation across the company. Doing so will help empower our business leaders with the business insights needed to fuel innovation, strengthen risk management, and create even better customer experiences. I’m honored to take on this opportunity and work alongside an incredible team to make a difference.”

Throughout her career, Regner has led initiatives in enterprise technology, finance, strategic transformation, corporate treasury, risk management, enterprise data, and audit. She is known for building high-performing teams and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
