Vipin Gopal Joins Concentra Board of Directors
(US and Canada) Concentra Group Holdings Parent, Inc. has announced the appointment of Vipin Gopal, PhD, to its Board of Directors. His addition brings significant expertise in data, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation to the company as it continues to strengthen its position in occupational health services.
Gopal has over 25 years of leadership experience across major organizations in the healthcare industry, including roles in the payor, provider, pharmaceutical, and retail pharmacy sectors. He has held executive positions as Chief Data and Analytics Officer at both Eli Lilly and Company and Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he led enterprise-wide strategies for AI, data operations, and digital innovation. Earlier in his career, he served as senior vice president of analytics at Humana and held leadership roles at Cigna, United Technologies Corporation, and Honeywell.
Gopal also holds a position on the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, showcasing his contributions to the field of data.
Gopal shared the news in a LinkedIn post: “I am honored to join the Board of Directors of Concentra, the leading occupational health services company in the U.S. It is exciting to be contributing to Concentra’s mission and growth at a time of meaningful transformation in healthcare, particularly with data, AI, and technology. Concentra cares for approximately 50,000 patients daily at around 800 locations — including occupational health centers and on-site clinics — across the country. I look forward to working alongside a great Board and leadership team to build on the successes of Concentra since its founding in 1979.”
Gopal earned his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, both in engineering. He also holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Keith Newton, Concentra’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the value Gopal brings to the organization, noting that Concentra works with vast amounts of healthcare data to support clinical decision-making. Newton expressed confidence that Gopal’s experience will provide strategic guidance as the company explores expanded applications of AI in care delivery.
Concentra’s Board of Directors now includes seven members, each bringing expertise from across medicine, finance, and healthcare leadership. Founded in 1979, Concentra continues to advance its mission of improving the health of America’s workforce through a national network of occupational health services.
