US Air Force Appoints John Patrick O’Donnell as Deputy CDO for the Intelligence Community

John Patrick O’Donnell, Air Force Deputy CDO for Intelligence Community

(US and Canada) John Patrick O’Donnell has been named Deputy Chief Data Officer for the U.S. Air Force’s Intelligence Community. In this capacity, he will also take on the role of data portfolio manager for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance under the Air Force Chief Information Office.

Prior to this appointment, O’Donnell worked as a data scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing, where he spent over two years focusing on human-machine co-learning. He began his service with the Air Force in 2020 while pursuing graduate studies at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Science in operations research in 2022.

Before entering active duty, O’Donnell completed over two years of training through the Air Force ROTC program in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he last served as a cadet wing recruiting officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
