(US and Canada) Tradeweb Markets Inc., a global operator of electronic marketplaces across rates, credit, equities, and money markets, has named Sherry Marcus as its new Head of Artificial Intelligence.

In this newly established global role, Marcus will guide the expansion of Tradeweb’s AI initiatives, building on its existing use of AI to improve price discovery, dealer selection, and analytics. She will report directly to Chief Technology Officer Justin Peterson and support Tradeweb’s work with over 3,000 clients across institutional, wholesale, retail advisory, and corporate sectors.

Marcus most recently worked at Amazon Web Services, where she led a 300-member science and data organization behind Amazon Bedrock, the company’s generative AI platform for enterprise clients. Her previous experience includes serving as Managing Director of Data and AI at BlackRock, where she founded a global AI office and directed the AI Leadership and Transformation team. She also held senior analytics roles at firms including Millennium Partners and Credit Suisse.

Justin Peterson, Tradeweb’s CTO, noted: “Sherry brings deep expertise at the intersection of AI and financial markets. Her leadership will be key as we scale our electronic trading capabilities and innovate in partnership with our clients.”

In addition to her professional work, Marcus is Vice President and board member of the MIT Club of New York and also serves on the boards of the Allen Brain Institute and Carnegie Mellon’s Computational Finance Department. She advises the NYC GenAI Council and has previously contributed to the NSA Advisory Board and the National Counter Terrorism Center’s Science Board.

Marcus holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from MIT.
