New Zealand based Tower Insurance has appointed Dr. Stephen Hastings as its Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Based in Auckland, he will lead the company’s data, analytics, and AI strategy to enhance customer experience and business growth.

Hastings was previously Head of Data at Tower, where he was responsible for customer data strategy, governance, and maximizing value through an integrated view of customer information. He brings more than 25 years of experience in data, analytics, and innovation, including serving as founder and leader of KPMG New Zealand’s Digital Lighthouse division. His career also spans roles in financial services, utilities, insurance, and government.

Commenting on his new role, Hastings said there is a significant opportunity to accelerate Tower’s transformation through the “smart, safe use of data, analytics, and AI,” and he looks forward to delivering meaningful value for customers.
