TD Bank appointed Deepti Chhiber Tuteja as Head of Data Management Oversight for the U.S. in January 2026. In this role, she leads the firm’s efforts to strengthen enterprise data programs, oversee data-related risks, and advance responsible AI governance and oversight. Her remit includes leadership of key regulatory initiatives such as BCBS 239, RDARR, DFAST, FDIC 370, and broader data regulatory compliance. She partners with senior leaders across the U.S. to reduce data risk and strengthen decision-making.

Tuteja brings over two decades of experience leading enterprise data and risk transformation across global financial institutions. Her expertise spans data governance, data risk, model and operational risk, regulatory remediation, and the design of scalable control frameworks aligned with supervisory expectations. She is recognized for building data capabilities that enhance transparency, strengthen control environments, and enable innovation at scale.

Most recently, at Morgan Stanley, Tuteja led initiatives across data governance, data quality, issue management, and strategy. She partnered with senior leadership to design and implement data target operating models that improved auditability, enhanced control effectiveness, and aligned enterprise data programs with regulatory expectations and long-term strategic priorities.

Earlier in her career, Tuteja held senior leadership roles at E*TRADE Financial and Morgan Stanley, where she was instrumental in establishing enterprise data governance frameworks, leading regulatory examinations, and driving large-scale remediation efforts.

She has also advised global financial institutions on complex regulatory and operational transformation initiatives, delivering measurable risk and financial outcomes.

“Data is no longer just an asset, it is the foundation of trust, resilience, and competitive advantage,” said Tuteja. “As regulatory expectations and AI innovation continue to evolve, building strong, transparent, and scalable data frameworks is critical to enabling both compliance and growth.”

Tuteja holds a Master of Science in Finance and maintains multiple industry certifications, including Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMPEx), Certified Data Steward, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She is a Harvard Business School Alumna.
