Swatee Singh, TIAA EVP, Chief Data and AI Officer, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board Member

(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Swatee Singh to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Singh is EVP, Chief Data and AI Officer at TIAA where she is responsible for elevating the enterprise data and AI strategy, making a significant impact across business lines. Her focus lies in developing next-gen data management, artificial intelligence, and machine learning platforms, along with enhancing differentiating assets, quality, governance, and data science capabilities.

Singh’s influence extends to her thought leadership in the Data, AI/ML, and emerging tech space, evident in the 15+ U.S. patents she has either filed or been granted in collaboration with fellow inventors.

In her previous role as the CIO of Enterprise Data Platforms at Barclays, Singh spearheaded the strategy, transformation, and technical delivery of next-gen technology and data capabilities. This included overseeing the hybrid, multi-cloud environment, which encompassed their E2E Machine Learning Platform and Real Time Streaming Platform.

Her tenure at American Express, where she served as the Head of Big Data Platform Engineering and the first female Distinguished Architect, spanned over 8 years. Singh played a pivotal role in leading the development of global platforms and cutting-edge applications, such as the multi-petabyte Big Data and AI ecosystem, and the successful launch of "Amex Offers."

Singh's career trajectory also includes roles at PwC and McKinsey. With a PhD from Duke University focused on Machine Learning, she not only possesses academic prowess but also holds multiple patents in data, AI, and cloud. She is credited with being the author of several industry publications, showcasing her commitment to sharing knowledge and insights within her field.
