(US and Canada) Standard Chartered has named Yusuf Demiral as the Global Head of Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) Data, Analytics and AI — a newly established role focused on leading the bank’s data and analytics strategy across the full client journey. Demiral will work in close alignment with the Marketing, Digital Sales, and Client Experience teams to help drive the strategic direction of the Chief Client Office.
Demiral brings more than 25 years of banking experience. Prior to this role, he served as Group Head of Data Analytics and CRM for Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC, where he led global initiatives in data platforms, advanced analytics, and CRM. His leadership extended across products, customer segments, and distribution channels, overseeing a team of more than 1,000 professionals in over 20 countries.
He will assume his new position on July 7, operating out of Hong Kong and reporting to Samir Subberwal, Global Head of Wealth Solutions, Deposits and Mortgages, and Chief Client Officer.
Commenting on the appointment, Subberwal said, “I am delighted to welcome Yusuf to Standard Chartered. As we continue to deliver innovative, digital-first personalized experiences for our clients, Yusuf will play a critical role in strengthening the use of data, analytics and AI capabilities to enhance the client journey. His knowledge and deep expertise built over the years will be instrumental for us to continually drive innovation, helping to deepen our client relationships and advance our abilities to meet their evolving needs.”
