Robert Zipp, Shelby County District Attorney’s Office Chief Data Officer

(US and Canada) The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office has appointed Robert “Bobby” Zipp as its new Chief Data Officer (CDO). Zipp replaces outgoing CDO Vishant Shah, who helped establish the office’s foundational data systems.

Zipp previously served as a Product Manager at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he led modernization efforts to streamline prosecutorial operations. He brings a background in data science and artificial intelligence from Northeastern University, along with experience in ethical tech initiatives through his involvement with organizations such as All Tech Is Human.

As CDO, Zipp will be responsible for assessing the District Attorney’s data infrastructure, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, and strengthening data coordination across law enforcement and judicial partners.

District Attorney Steve Mulroy said the appointment reflects his office’s long-term commitment to using data to improve prosecution outcomes, enhance transparency, and better serve the public.
