(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Sashi Venkatesan to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Venkatesan is Head of Pharmacy and Healthcare Data at Walgreens, where he leads data initiatives for the company’s $80 billion Pharmacy and Healthcare business. His role encompasses defining a three-year vision, crafting strategy, executing a data portfolio, and building a robust data practice from the ground up. Under his leadership, Walgreens has developed technical capabilities to support its digital transformation, resulting in measurable improvements in patient outcomes and pharmacy operations.

As part of his responsibilities, Venkatesan has guided a global team of over 300 professionals, instilling best-in-class engineering practices and product development methodologies. He has also provided hands-on technical leadership, successfully developing a pharmacy data platform that processes real-time data from 10,000 store operations, handling approximately 850 million prescription dispenses annually.

Before joining Walgreens, Venkatesan held key leadership roles at Amazon, TIBCO, and other technology-driven organizations. As a Senior Product Manager at Amazon, he worked on data insights and machine learning initiatives. Prior to that, he spent over six years at TIBCO as a Product Engineering Lead and Solutions Architect, where he played a pivotal role in building enterprise software products and driving successful implementations.
